Professional Attorney &
Executor Appointments
Chiltern Trust Corporation (CTC) can be appointed to act as your Attorney for Property and Financial Affairs and an Executor under your Will. The appointments remain dormant until you lose mental capacity or die, at which point CTC will step in to act.
“Let’s choose executors and talk of wills”
- WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE -
The
Attorney
A prospective attorney is appointed under a Power of Attorney to manage property and financial affairs. It can include individuals and/or a trust corporation. They become active either when the client requests it or when the client is medically certified as having lost capacity. We will only can take on prospective Property and Financial attorney roles jointly with others, usually family members. In doing so, we will collaborate closely with any appointed financial advisers, investment managers, property agents, banks, accountants, and others to manage the client’s assets and financial affairs, including tax matters. CTC will not assume attorney roles under a Health and Welfare Power of Attorney.
The
Executor
The executors are appointed under the will and can include individuals and/or a trust corporation. They have to apply for probate which requires identification, valuation of all assets and they must make inheritance tax payments. They will have access to the client’s vault of information and documents to save time, stress and professional costs.
Trusted support
for your Family & Friends
CTC is normally appointed alongside other Attorneys and Executors (typically family members or close friends) but can act alone if needed in the event that the other Attorneys and Executors cannot act when required. CTC is designed to be appointed when you take out Chiltern Corporation’s Core Concierge Service, so that all of the necessary information is readily available to the Attorneys and Executors when they are needed.
